Pick a category's channels when you create it — and renames reach your store again

v4.0.136 – 4.0.150NewImprovedFixed

A short follow-up to last week's category work. Most of it is about making sure what you see in Fulify is what ends up on your store.

Choose the channels when you create a category

Creating a category used to offer a sync switch with nothing on the screen to say where it would sync. The result was a category that existed only in Fulify — which is exactly the state that later causes "this product's categories aren't on this store" errors.

The create screen now lists your channels so you can assign the new category as you make it. Nothing is ticked for you: you choose.

Moving a category moves it on your channels too

If you gave a category a new parent in Fulify, the next sync could leave it under its old parent on the storefront while Fulify showed it in its new place. Moving a category now carries its position on each channel with it, and marks it as needing a sync. Sync it once and the store matches.

Renaming a category or brand reaches the channel again

Renames had stopped making it out of Fulify. Rename a category or brand, sync it, and the new name now appears on your store.

A second sync tells you what happened

Re-syncing categories could sit on a "0 / 0" progress bar or fail without a word. It now reports progress and failures the same way the first sync does.

Write brand descriptions with AI

The brand description field now has Generate with AI, the same helper you already have on products. It gives you a first draft to edit, not a finished description.

Smaller things

  • When Fulify needs to warn you that a channel will refuse something, the warning now appears on top of the window that triggered it, instead of hidden behind it.
  • Several fixes to how a category's position is checked before it's created on a channel, so a subcategory isn't created in the wrong place.
