Syncing a product leaves the images you added on your channel alone

v4.0.205 – 4.0.216ImprovedFixed

This release changes how Fulify treats product images on your channels. The short version: Fulify looks after the images it uploaded, and nothing else.

Fulify manages only the images it uploaded

Until now, syncing a product rebuilt its whole image gallery on the channel: Fulify removed what was there and uploaded its own set. That was fine for images that came from Fulify. It was not fine for photos added directly in BigCommerce or Shopify — by you, or by another app — or for products that were on your store before you started using Fulify. Those photos were removed on sync.

Now each image Fulify uploads is tracked individually. A sync updates and removes only those. Photos added on the channel stay exactly where they are, on BigCommerce and on Shopify.

BigCommerce doesn't keep removed product images. If a product is missing photos that were added directly on the store before this update, add them again. They won't be removed by future syncs.

See which images Fulify manages

The Media section of the product editor now says so plainly, listing each channel with a count such as "4 images managed by Fulify", with a note that photos added directly on a channel are left alone.

Image checks

  • Too small for Google Shopping? Fulify now warns when a product image is under Google Shopping's 500 × 500 pixel minimum, so you can replace it before the product is turned down.
  • Shopify's size limit is 25 megapixels, not 20 as Fulify had it. Larger images that Shopify accepts are no longer refused.

Smaller things

  • Import from Channel matches existing brands and categories by what they are, rather than by a store-specific id, so it doesn't create duplicates.
  • A notification popping up no longer throws away your unsaved edits.
  • The category editor now asks before you leave with unsaved changes, and its change count is accurate.
