Fulify never sends stock levels to your channels — and an empty screen means empty
This release draws a clear line around stock, and fixes a habit the app had of showing you the worst reading of something it simply hadn't loaded yet.
Fulify never sends stock levels to your channels
Stock quantities change by the minute, and the system that takes orders — Linnworks or another order management system, or the channel itself — is the only place they can be right. From this release, Fulify stays out of it completely:
- Fulify never sends stock levels to BigCommerce or Shopify.
- Fulify doesn't store them either. The variant editor no longer has an Inventory Level field, a stock, quantity or qty column in a CSV import is ignored, and the API no longer accepts or returns stock quantities.
- Low-stock thresholds stay. A warning level is a merchandising choice, not a count, so you can still set it.
- Fulify asks for fewer permissions. It no longer requests Shopify's inventory and location permissions, and asks BigCommerce only for what it uses.
What to do: manage stock in your order management system or on the channel. If you used to enter quantities in Fulify, that figure no longer goes anywhere.
Linnworks never gets a blank where it should keep your data
When Fulify updates a Linnworks stock item, it first reads the item so that fields you've chosen not to sync keep their Linnworks values. If that read failed, Fulify could send an empty value instead. It now leaves the field alone, and doesn't treat a failed read as permission to change a setting.
Channel sync status agrees with itself
The product list and the channel tabs in the editor could show different sync states for the same product at the same moment. They now read from one place, so a product that's synced shows as synced everywhere.
"Couldn't load" is no longer shown as "none"
Several screens couldn't tell the difference between "we couldn't load this" and "there isn't any", and showed you the more alarming of the two:
- A slow-loading page no longer tells you your plan doesn't include a feature it does.
- A list that fails to load shows an error and a way to retry, rather than looking like an empty account. This covers products, brands, variant groups and the settings lists.
- A search with no results says it found nothing, rather than suggesting you have no brands at all.
- Members who hadn't picked an organisation could see only the settings entries they had created themselves. They now see everything in the organisation.
Descriptions are cleaned more strictly
Rich text in descriptions is now checked against a strict list of allowed formatting before it's saved and sent to your storefront. Ordinary formatting such as headings, lists, links and bold is kept.
Smaller things
- Edited alt text reaches the channel. Changing an image's alt text in Fulify now updates it on the store.
- Sync works on smaller screens. The Sync control was out of reach on windows narrower than 1024 pixels.
- The Error filter finds every product it shows as an error, and the result count no longer labels your whole catalog as matches.
- The import page no longer breaks while a category sync is running.
