Manage brands
Brands are the manufacturers or labels your products belong to. You set each brand up once in Fulify, with its logo, description, social links and SEO, then assign it to the stores where you sell it and sync it there. One brand in Fulify can be on several stores at once.
On BigCommerce a brand becomes a native store brand. On Shopify, which has no brand object of its own, Fulify stores the brand as a brand entry (metaobject) and sends the brand name to each product as its Vendor.
Where to find it
Open Brands in the top navigation, or go to /brands.
The brands list
The list gives you:
- Summary cards: Total Brands, Enabled, Synced, Pending and Errors.
- Search by brand name.
- Filters: status (Enabled or Disabled), sync status (Synced, Not Synced, Error, Drifted, Pending) and sync setting (Sync Enabled or Sync Disabled).
- Sort: Newest First, Oldest First, Name A-Z, Name Z-A, Recently Updated or Sync Status.
- Each row shows the product count, a logo for every store the brand is assigned to, whether the brand is enabled, and its sync status. Hover an error badge to read the reason.
- Row actions: Edit, Assign channels, Duplicate, Sync to Channel and Delete.
- Export CSV at the top of the page downloads the brands on screen. For a full export with filters and column choice, use the Export page (see Export products).
Bulk actions
Select brands with the checkboxes and a bar appears at the bottom of the page:
- Sync On and Sync Off set the Channel Sync setting on every selected brand.
- Sync pushes each selected brand to the stores it's assigned to.
- Channel opens Channel Assignments, where one switch per store assigns or removes all the selected brands.
- Delete and Export.
In the bulk Channel Assignments window, a partial state such as "3 of 5 assigned" shows as off. Switch it on to assign the rest. Removing a brand from a store only detaches it in Fulify. It doesn't delete the brand on the store.
Sync statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Synced | The store has the brand as it is in Fulify. |
| Pending | You've edited a synced brand since its last sync. Sync again to send the changes. |
| Syncing | A sync is running. |
| Error | The last sync failed. Hover the badge to see why. |
| Drifted | Fulify has a link to the brand on BigCommerce, but the store says the brand no longer exists. Sync it again to recreate it, or delete it from Fulify. |
| Not Synced | The brand hasn't been sent to any store yet. |
Add a brand
- On the Brands list, click Add Brand. The form opens at
/brands/new. - Enter a Brand Name (required) and, if you like, a meta title and description.
- Fill in SEO & Marketing, the Custom URL Slug and an optional FAQ Template.
- Under Brand Settings, choose whether the Brand is active and whether to Enable Channel sync.
- Click Create Brand.
Creating a brand doesn't send it anywhere. Assign it to your stores and sync it when it's ready (see below).
Edit a brand
- Click the brand's name on the list, or its Edit action, to open it at
/brands/[id]. - Click Edit Brand to switch from viewing to editing.
- Use the side navigation to jump between sections.
- Click Save Changes, or Cancel to throw your edits away.
Saving never pushes the brand to a store. If the brand was already synced, saving marks it Pending on every store it's on, so you can see it needs another sync. If you try to leave with unsaved changes, Fulify asks first.
Field reference
| Section | Fields |
|---|---|
| Basic Information | Name (required), Short Description, Description (rich text, with AI generation) |
| Brand Identity | Logo URL, Website URL, Country of Origin, Year Established |
| Brand Image | Image upload, image alt text (with AI generation) |
| Social Links | Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok |
| SEO & Marketing | Page Title (up to 70 characters), Meta Keywords, Meta Description (up to 160), Search Keywords, Custom URL Slug |
| Open Graph | OG Title (up to 95 characters), OG Description (up to 200) |
| AI & Discovery | AI Summary, AI Context, AI Keywords |
| Settings | Status (Enabled or Disabled), Channel Sync, FAQ Template, Default Shipping Profile (ShipperHQ), Sync Status and last synced time |
Use Generate All in SEO & Marketing to fill the SEO fields with AI in one go. Synced brands also have a Brand Metafields section at the bottom of the page.
The description, short description, logo, website, country, year, social links, Open Graph text, image alt text and FAQ template are sent to the store as brand metafields, so your theme can show them on brand pages.
Brand image
The image upload checks your file against the stores the brand syncs to. If a store won't take the format or the file is too large, you'll see which store and why. BigCommerce accepts images up to 8MB. Shopify accepts up to 20MB and 25 megapixels. If none of the brand's stores would accept the file, it isn't uploaded.
Custom URL Slug
A new brand's URL is generated from its name. Once a brand exists, its URL is fixed: renaming the brand doesn't change it, so links to the old page keep working. The slug shows as Fixed or Auto-generated. Click Reset to generate it again from the current name.
Default Shipping Profile
If you use ShipperHQ, products of this brand pick up this shipping profile when they don't have one of their own. A product's own profile wins, and a brand's profile wins over a category's. See ShipperHQ.
Assign a brand to stores and sync it
- On the Brands list, click the brand's Assign channels action.
- In Channel Assignments, switch on each store the brand should be on. Each assigned store shows its own sync status and any error.
- Click Re-sync next to a store to push the brand there now. Re-sync also recreates the brand if it was deleted on the store.
- Click Done.
To sync a brand to every store it's assigned to, use Sync to Channel on its row, or select several brands and click Sync in the bulk bar. If a brand has no stores assigned, Fulify asks you to assign one first. Syncing a brand switches its Channel Sync setting on.
Brand IDs are different on every store. See Brands and categories on your stores for why a product's brand has to be on the same store as the product.
Delete a brand
- Choose the brand's Delete action, or select several brands and click Delete in the bulk bar.
- Confirm in the dialog.
- If the brand is on one or more stores, a Brand Synced to Channels warning names them. Click Delete Anyway to go ahead.
Deleting removes the brand from Fulify only. The brand stays on your stores, so remove it there too if you no longer want it.
