Edit a product
The product editor is where you enrich a product: content, media, pricing, SEO, shipping, variants and more. Every section is on one page, and the section nav on the left lets you jump straight to the one you need.
Where to find it
On the Products list, click a product's name or its Edit action.
The editor has:
- A section nav on the left that follows you as you scroll and highlights the section you're in.
- A Quality widget showing the product's score and what's still missing.
- A top bar with Sync, History and Back to Products.
- A save bar pinned to the bottom of the page.
Saving your changes
One Save button commits everything on the page: product fields, categories, variants and attributes, together.
- The save bar shows how many unsaved changes you have, or "No unsaved changes".
- Cancel reverts the page to the last saved version, including any variant edits, after asking you to confirm.
- If you try to leave with unsaved changes, Fulify asks before discarding them.
Saving updates the product in Fulify. To push the change to your channels, use Sync (or let the next sync pick it up). See Sync products to a channel.
Basic Information
- Product Name (required).
- SKU.
- Brand: search your brands, or create one on the spot.
- Product Type: Physical Product or Digital Product. This decides which shipping and inventory options apply.
- Condition: New, Used or Refurbished, with an option to Display condition on product page.
- Physical Properties (physical products only): Weight, Width, Height and Depth in your organization's units, set in Settings → General.
- Custom Fields: name and value pairs that sync to BigCommerce as custom fields.
Categories
Browse your category tree on the left and tick categories to assign them. Assigned categories appear on the right as chips showing their full path. Search the tree by name, or create a new category without leaving the editor.
When you're working on a channel tab, categories that aren't available on that channel are greyed out.
Visibility & Status
This section sits near the top on purpose: it decides whether anything else on the page reaches a channel.
- Sync: the master switch for the product. Off means the product stays in Fulify and reaches no sales channel and no connected app.
- Channel Sync: lets Fulify update the product on your sales channels. Available only when Sync is on.
- Apps: a per-product switch for each connected app, such as Linnworks.
- Show on Storefront: whether customers can see the product.
- Featured Product: highlights the product in your store.
- Sort Order: lower numbers appear first.
- Availability: Available, Disabled or Pre-order, with an optional Availability Message (for example "Usually ships in 24 hours").
- Pre-order Settings: a Pre-order Message (use the %%DATE%% token to insert the date), a Release Date, and Remove pre-order status on this date to switch the product back automatically.
- Scheduling: a Publish Date (at least 3 minutes from now) when the product becomes active, and an End Date after which it's disabled. Times are in your organization's timezone.
See Sync, Channel Sync and Show on Storefront for how the switches work together.
Content
- Subtitle: a short tagline often shown below the product name.
- Short Description: a summary used in listings and search results.
- Product Description: the full description, written in the rich-text editor.
- Product Highlights: up to 10 short selling points. Highlights can also feed your Google custom labels.
Use Generate with AI next to Short Description and Product Description to draft copy from the product's details.
Media
- Product Images: add as many images as you need, drag them to reorder, add Alt Text to each, and click Use as thumbnail to choose the image shown in listings.
- Videos: YouTube or Vimeo videos, each with a title, video ID, description and sort order.
- Documents: upload manuals, spec sheets, safety data sheets and certificates so customers can download them from the storefront.
A note under your images explains which images Fulify manages on each channel. Fulify only updates and removes images it uploaded itself. Photos added directly on a channel, by you or by another app, are left alone.
If an image is too small for Google Shopping, Fulify marks it. Google recommends 1500 x 1500 pixels or larger.
Pricing & Codes
- Base Price (required), Sale Price, Retail Price and Cost Price, in your organization's currency.
- Product Codes: UPC, MPN and GTIN.
If pricing management is turned off in Settings → General, the price fields are read-only and Fulify doesn't send prices to your channels. This is useful when prices are managed in your ecommerce platform or another system.
Inventory & Stock
Fulify doesn't hold stock levels. Your warehouse or order system owns quantities. What you set here is how the channel tracks stock:
- Inventory Tracking: Don't track inventory, Track by product, or Track by variant.
- Order Quantity Limits: Minimum Order Quantity and Maximum Order Quantity (0 means no limit).
- Bin Picking Number: the product's warehouse bin location.
- Country of Origin: a 2-letter ISO code (for example GB). Shopify requires this format. It overrides the customs template, and variants inherit it unless they set their own.
- Tax Code and Tax Category: the tax category resolves per channel to a BigCommerce tax class or Shopify's taxable setting. See Tax settings.
- Unit Pricing: a "price per unit" measure, such as 750 ml priced per 100 ml. It syncs to Shopify and to the Google Merchant data on both platforms.
- Warranty Information: write free text, choose a template, or mark it Not applicable.
If the tracking level doesn't fit the product, Fulify warns you and offers a one-click switch. For example, a product with sizes that tracks stock at product level can keep sold-out sizes on sale. See Variants and options.
Search Marketing & Social
- Meta Title and Meta Description, each with Generate with AI.
- Meta Keywords, separated by commas.
- URL Slug: based on the product name by default. Edit it to customize, or click Reset to go back to the generated slug. An existing product keeps its URL when you rename it, so links don't break.
- Search Keywords: extra terms for your store's own search.
Product Feeds settings for Google Merchant Center:
- Exclude from Google Merchant: hide this product from Google Shopping feeds.
- Google Product Category.
- Product Classification: chosen from the classifications managed in Settings, so everyone describes products the same way.
- Language: the language of the product content.
- Google Custom Labels: map your product highlights to custom_label_0 to custom_label_4.
Open Graph (Social Sharing): by default, links shared on social media use the product name, meta description and product image. Untick those options to set a custom OG Title, OG Description and OG Type.
Shipping
- Free Shipping, or a fixed shipping price. Leave it empty to use your store's default rates.
- Shipping dimensions: Depth, Width and Height of the package, if different from the product.
- Handling Time (days): minimum and maximum time to prepare the product for shipping.
- Shipping Labels: such as fragile or heavy, chosen from the labels you define in Settings.
- Shipping Information and Returns Information: free text with a section title, or a template from Settings. Templates keep your policies consistent, and editing a template updates every product that uses it.
- Shipping Profile (ShipperHQ): if you use ShipperHQ, choose a profile, or leave it as None so ShipperHQ data isn't touched.
Options & Variants
Assign option types such as Color or Size, choose the values, and click Generate Variants. Each variant row has its own SKU, price, cost and more. See Variants and options.
This section also links to External Variant Groups, which group separate products as variants of each other (each with its own URL, which helps SEO). Groups are managed in Settings → External Variant Groups.
Attributes
- Attribute Template: choose a system template or one of your own, such as an apparel template with gender, age group, fit, pattern and care fields. Then fill in its fields.
- Custom Attributes: add any name and value pair.
- Generic Attributes: Size System, Multipack Quantity and Bundle.
Attribute templates, with their fields and validation, are managed in Settings → Attribute Templates.
Customs & Compliance
HS code, customs description, manufacture and test dates, and a US safety compliance (CPSC) template. See Customs and compliance.
Merchandising
- Channel Chooses Related Products: let the channel show related products automatically, or turn it off and pick Related Products yourself.
- Collections: named product groups such as "Complete the Look", synced as metafields for your storefront.
- Selection Guides: size charts and compatibility guides created in Selection Guides.
- Badges: visual labels such as "New" or "Top Pick", created in Settings.
- Features: product qualities such as "100% Wool" or "Hand Wash Only", created in Settings.
- FAQ Template: a set of frequently asked questions, synced as a metafield.
Custom Sections
Add extra sections that appear as tabs on your product page, depending on your theme. Each section can be Rich Text, Attributes / Specifications, Video, Downloads or FAQ. The content is synced to your channel as metafields for your storefront to display.
Channel tabs
Once a product is assigned to a channel, tabs appear at the top of the editor: Main Record (the shared product) and one tab per channel. On a channel tab you can override values for that channel only, including variant values. Use Add to Channel to assign the product to another channel. See How channels work.
