Tax categories
The Tax page lets you define tax categories, such as Standard rate, Zero-rated or Exempt, and map each one to the right tax setting on every connected channel. Assign a category to a product once, and Fulify sends the matching tax setting to each channel when it syncs.
Where to find it
Go to Settings → Tax, or open /settings/tax.
Add a tax category
- Go to Settings → Tax.
- Type a name in the box below the table, for example "Standard rate".
- Click Add category, or press Enter.
- In the new row, choose the matching tax setting for each channel.
The mapping table
- Tax category — the category name. To rename it, edit the name in the table and click away. The change saves automatically.
- One column per channel — each connected channel has its own column with a dropdown. Choose the option that matches the category, or - not mapped -. Each change saves as soon as you make it.
- Delete — the trash icon removes the category. It's unassigned from any products and its channel mappings are removed.
What each channel's dropdown offers:
| Channel | Options |
|---|---|
| BigCommerce | Your store's own tax classes, loaded live from the store |
| Shopify | Taxable or Exempt (no tax), because Shopify has no tax classes |
If you haven't connected a channel yet, the page reminds you to connect one first. See Add a channel.
Notes
- You assign a tax category to a product with the Tax Category field in the product editor. This page only defines the categories and their channel mappings.
- The tax provider code used by services such as Avalara is a separate field, set on each product.
