Product classifications
Classifications are a hierarchical product-type taxonomy, a tree of types like Plumbing → Fittings → Copper, used for product feeds and internal organization. Unlike categories, classifications describe what a product is, not how it's grouped for shoppers.
Where to find it
Go to Settings → Product Classifications, or open /settings/classifications.
Build the taxonomy
- Click Add Root Node to start a top-level type.
- Enter a Name (for example "Plumbing") and click Add, or press Enter.
- To add a type underneath, click + Child on its parent. The form shows the Parent the new node will sit under.
The Taxonomy card lists every node in a tree. Nested nodes also show their full path, so you can tell similar names apart.
Edit or delete a node
- Edit — rename the node, then click Update.
- Delete — remove the node. Delete is disabled while a node has children, so delete its children first.
Deleting a classification can't be undone.
