Initial catalog import
The Initial catalog import page does a one-time import from a connected BigCommerce store. It brings that store's brands, categories and products into Fulify so you start with a full catalog instead of an empty one. Shopify catalogs are seeded with CSV Import on the Products page instead.
Once a store has been imported, this page has done its job. From then on, add and update products with CSV Import on the Products page, which lets you choose exactly which products and fields to change. See Import products.
This page needs a plan that includes CSV Import (Growth or higher).
Where to find it
Go to Settings → Import from Channel, or open /settings/import.
Import a store
- Go to Settings → Import from Channel.
- Pick the store in the Channel dropdown. Shopify stores are listed but can't be selected, because they use CSV import.
- Run the imports. Order matters: brands first, then categories, then products.
- Import Brands
- Import Categories
- Import Products
- Import All — runs all three in the right order.
While an import runs, the page shows Import running with the current step and progress, for example "1,200 of 4,800 products imported (page 12/48)". You can close the page and the import carries on in the background.
When it finishes, you'll see Import completed successfully and a summary of how many items were imported, already existed, were skipped, or failed.
If an import stalls
If an import stops making progress, the page shows Import stalled and where it stopped. Click Resume from page … to continue from the next page rather than starting again.
A store that's already been imported
If the selected store already has products in Fulify, the import buttons are replaced by a This channel has already been imported notice. Importing it again would pull the whole catalog over your edits. Use CSV Import on the Products page to make changes instead.
You can still import a different BigCommerce store that hasn't been imported yet.
Migrate images
The Migrate Images section is separate from the catalog import. It copies the product images that Fulify is still loading from the selected store's BigCommerce image hosting into Fulify's own media library. Your images then keep working even if they're removed from the source store.
- Pick the store in the Channel dropdown at the top of the page.
- Click Migrate Images.
The page shows how many products have been migrated and any that failed. Like the import, the migration carries on if you close the page.
